It's all about you

On Friday, June 8th, UFA Co-operative Ltd. honoured the contributions of Alberta's farmers by celebrating Farmer's Day. It's a time when we can collectively celebrate Alberta's agriculture industry and thank our members for their passion and tireless efforts in providing safe and nutritious food to Canada and the world.

UFA has a rich and deep history celebrating Farmer's Day, dating back to 1945, when the co-operative passed a resolution at a convention to declare a fixed day to observe Farmer's Day as a way to recognize the importance of agriculture in the province. Historically, every second Friday in June was a provincial holiday where schools would close and farming families would come together to celebrate the agricultural community as a whole. Several years ago, UFA decided to resurrect the decades' old tradition and every year since, it's gotten bigger and better.

This year was no exception. Communities across the province gathered together to enjoy a day of recognition and celebration at UFA Farm & Ranch Supply stores and Petroleum Agencies.  sermo.farm was fortunate to be a part of helping tell the story of Farmers Day. Learn more about UFA here.
